When you suspect that you are pregnant, you will want confirmation as soon as you can but you may have some symptoms of pregnancy in the first few weeks. Obviously, a missed period will be your first indication but there are other clues. For example your breasts may be very tender and appear swollen, or you may find yourself urinating more frequently. For no apparent reason, you might feel tired.
Some foods, or drinks, or even certain smells like cigarette smoke, may make you feel nauseated. All these symptoms are the most common symptoms of the early signs of pregnancy.
The early stages of pregnancy are very similar to the feelings you may experience when you are pre-menstrual, and you may even have a slight bleeding. Pregnancy testing kits available today can let you know 2-3 days after you’ve missed a period if you are pregnant and the earlier you know the better, in order to re-arrange your life and to set up the prenatal care plan that you are going to need.
In the first few weeks, you may also feel quite emotional and feel as though you’ve lost control. These feelings are also the early signs of pregnancy and they will soon settle down.
The most common of the early pregnancy symptoms of pregnancy, and the most trying for many women is morning sickness. 50-85% of all pregnant women suffer from the nausea of pregnancy and it can happen at other times of the day too. No one really knows what causes it but to help ease you’re suffering, if you do feel sick in the mornings, try not to get up too early, and get up slowly.
Dry biscuits and tea, or some dry toast with tea may help to prevent nausea. These early signs of pregnancy do pass and usually morning sickness end when you are 16-17 weeks pregnant.
